Der Authenticator Change durch die Hintertür

Heute mittag loggte ich mich in WoW ein. Alles war normal. Als ich dann rausflog, fingerte ich wieder nach meinem Authenticator und war dann verblüfft, als ich ich diesen nicht brauchte. Was war passiert? Zunächst dachte ich, ich wäre einem Bug aufgesessen, aber tatsächlich gab es heute ein interessante Änderung, die nicht nur den Komfort erhöht sondern auch die Lebenszeit des Tokens. Wenn man sich vom selben Ort einloggt, kann man sich nun den Griff zum Authenticator sparen.  Ich kann mich übrigens der Empfehlung bezüglich der Nützlichkeit nach wie vor nur anschließen.

 

If you use an authenticator – and we hope you do – you may soon notice that an authenticator prompt may not appear with every login. We’ve recently updated our authentication system to intelligently track your login locations, and if you’re logging in consistently from the same place, you may not be asked for an authenticator code. This change is being made to make the authenticator process less intrusive when we’re sure the person logging in to your account is you.
