Heath Ledger gewinnt Oscar posthum

Heute Morgen fanden die 81. Annual Academy Awards im Kodak Theatre in L.A. statt. Die wohl größte Sensation war wohl der Oscar für den Actor in a Supporting Role, der an den verstorbenen Heath Ledger, für seine Rolle des Jokers in Christopher Nolans Batman „The Dark Knight“, ging. Den Oscar nahmen seine Eltern und Schwester, sichtlich gerührt, entgegen.

Damit ist Ledger erst der zweite Schauspieler der nach Peter Finch (Network), einen posthum Oscar verliehen bekam. Großes Lob dafür an die Academy.

Zu den Verlieren des Abends zählt klar „Der seltsame Fall des Benjamin Button“. Für 13 Oscars nominiert, konnte der Film letztlich nur 3 Oscars abstauben.

Hingegen mit 9 Nominierungen, darunter 2 in der Kategorie Original Song, gewann Slumdog Millionaire alle 8 möglichen Oscars, darunter „Best Film of Year“ und zählt damit klar zu den Gewinnern des Abends.

Ebenfalls sehr erfreulich: Nach 5 erfolglosen Nominierungen (für Little Children, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Iris, Titanic und Sense and Sensibility) hat es bei der 6. Nominierung endlich für Kate Winslet geklappt. Sie gewann den Oscar in der Kategorie Leading Actress für „The Reader“, nach der Romanvorlage von Bernhard Schlink „Der Vorleser“, den ich übrigens damals im Deutsch LK gelesen habe.

Leer ging wieder einmal Meryl Streep aus, die nun schon auf insgesamt 15 Nominierungen (bei insgesamt 2 Gewinnen) kommt.

Beim „In Memoriam“ Rückblick auf die Verstorbenen des letzten Jahres sind 3 Namen gefallen, die man in der Tat nicht so schnell vergessen kann und sollte: Paul Newman, Charlton Heston und Michael Crichton.
